HOW WE ELEVATE THE PLATE.

Southern Dish 101 is a catering company serving Lancaster, Charlotte, Waxhaw, Fort Mill, Rock Hill and  surrounding areas in North and South Carolina. Our mission is to bring together the best of Southern cooking and hospitality to each event we cater.

Catering FAQ

Q: What is a full-service event?

A: A full service event can be comprised of one or multiple of these services: passed/butlered appetizers, action stations, setting place settings, china flatware, plates and glassware over a certain number, a full bar with beer, wine and liquor, cake cutting, cooking onsite, etc.

Q: What is included in a full-service event?

A: Southern Dish 101  full-service events include all of the displayware (chafing dishes, sternos, serving utensils, bread baskets, ceramic platters in a variety of designs (passing or stationary displays), etc. to set up a buffet, appetizer display, stations, etc.

Q: What is the difference between drop-off delivery and full-service events?

A: Drop off delivery includes the caterers arriving on site and leaving your ordered food for you to serve or for self-service.  We can provide disposable warmers at an additional cost.  Full-service events include full catering staff on site from start to finish. We will continue to provide service throughout the event including bartending, replenishment, drink service, bussing, keeping the space clean, and full kitchen cleanup at the end of the evening.

Q: How do I schedule a tasting?

A: An initial consultation with our Catering Director and a proposal must be received prior to scheduling a tasting. Please click here to get started with a consultation with our Catering Director.  We do charge $50 per guest participating in the tasting. The cost will be deducted from your deposit should you book with us.

Q: In addition to the cost of food, what other charges can I expect?

A: Labor, production fee, and taxes, outlined in the detailed catering proposal.

Q: Is it too late to deliver for tomorrow?

A: We can usually accommodate a next day order depending on the number of people, menu and time of year.

​

Q: What is your minimum for delivery?

A: We have a 10 people minimum for delivery.

Venue FAQ

Q: What is the capacity of the venue?

A: The seating capacity inside is 50.

​

Q: How much is the venue rental?

A: A 4-hour rental for up to 25 guests is $400.  The cost is for $475 for 25-50 guests

​

Q: What is included in the rental fee?

A: The Rental fee includes: set up and breakdown of tables and chairs for your event, venue host, use of sound system and in-house linen (black or white). Elegant disposable plates, cups and flatware are also included.

Use of china, glasses, flatware and colored linen can be added as an upgrade. Florals, Floating Candles and other centerpieces can also be added as an upgrade.

Q:. Can we bring in outside catering?

A: No, Southern Dish 101 is a unique caterer in that we customize all our menus and our Chef has created menu distinctive recipes to accommodate a variety of flavors. You can bring in your own cake.
